Nice to see religions are setting aside their differences for Christmas….or maybe not.
And people still wonder what starts most if not all wars???? Religion.

I see this all the time. Priests have lost their way. They should allow women in. There is nothing in the bible to say they cannot. They also need to remember why they are Priest….or kick the bums out.
Not that I know what Jesus would say, but I hardly think he would view the cleaning as a huge issue, and would most likely not advocate throwing blows as a way to deal with who holds the 409. While they’re busy “jealously” guarding their piece, did they bother with seeing what the bible says about jealousy? Does it really matter? Very childish.

Shame. Thats what all Christians should feel for allowing their religious beliefs to degrade into fighting over hewn stone and graven images. You will find nowhere in the Bible, Old or New Testament, wherer God or Jesus told people to turn this into a “holy” site. Whatever that is supposed to be. Quite the contrary. Read leviticus on rules for alters and such. Take a tip from a commandment on graven images. Stop worshiping idols and pieces of stone and rocks and fighting over the things you can’t find in the scriptures. Its the message a-holes! Not the messenger or where his umblical cord was cut or the piece of wood he was killed on. Come together before the Muslims overrun you.

I was in the Church of the nativite 2 weeks ago.
I did not feel good there. It is spiritually dusty. We can feel Jesus’ sadness and a feelings of anger.
Between Islam, Judaism, Christianity, we need to get read of all these rituals, costums etc…. and practice what our faiths teach.
Otherwise our prayers are not the one God want to hear.

This is exactly what Jesus came down here for - to save us from our own discusting sin. How ironic. This indeed made Him sad to see this. We have to remember that Christians are sinners too, though. They’re just the ones that know that and have asked Him to help us time and time again. We all make mistakes - Christians and non-Christians.

Go directly to Christ. Bypass the “church”.

Garrett,
You ,sir, are an intellecually shallow retard.
9. Peter December 27th, 2007 - 8:14 am
Join the Catholic Church and end this.

Have any of you ever noticed that people who believe in Creationism look really un-evolved?
11. Encinitas01 December 27th, 2007 - 8:18 am
Sola Scriptora Folks ! Pagans play rough, I was suprised to hear no catholic pagans didn’t jump in. True Christianity don’t prescribe to Idol worship.
12. Randy December 27th, 2007 - 8:18 am
No can do, Charles. Unless you want to worship someone OTHER than Christ, for Christ not only *founded* the Church, He is also the HEAD of the Church. Thus your advice is not only ungodly, it is ultimately deadly.

“Join the Catholic Church and end this” In the United States the Catholic Church has covered up the horrible attacks of Priests on young boys. At least the Greek Church clergy have a reputation with fighting with other Priests and being seen with young women, not young boys. I guess those Priests forgot what Christmas is all about.
This is lunacy! The very fact that a denomination can claim territorial rights over a parcel of space thought to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ is shear lunacy. The Greek Orthodox and Armenian Orthodox priests who were brawling each other certainly have missed the spiritual message of the birth of Christ. Moreover, the present reality that religions hold certain parts of planet earth as more sacred than others is an abomination. I mean, yes, Jesus Christ walked the streets of Jerusalem, and he was born in Bethlahem, but, He is about so much more than earthly kingdoms. He goes beyond the land of Israel. In fact, the very notion of Israel is not an earthly notion at all. The Kingdom of God is one of the spirit, not of this earthly dwelling place. This is a central teaching of Christ Himself. Israel is the Kingdom of God in which all those who have been given the free gift of faith in Jesus Christ, through God’s grace and illuminated by the Holy Scriptures, shall ascend according to the Gospel, otherwise known as the Good News. So, the notion that we can possess a piece of God here on earth is blasphemous and utterly ignorant!

CBS:
Garrett, is RIGHT ON! I’m a Christian , but I have had it with the bozos that use God to line their pockets, and start “holy wars”. Priests fighting over who cleans the church is STUPID!. The church of the nativity is now nothing more than a carnival ride. Organized religion SUCKS!

Maybe this will inspire the Pope to wear the big hat again. You know, the one that is a hat choice away from being the grand wizard of the ku klux klan.
17. Encinitas01 December 27th, 2007 - 8:27 am
Jesus (yeshua which means the Lord saves) is able to save completely those who come to God through Him. “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”–(John 4:23-24)
18. Follower of Christ December 27th, 2007 - 8:30 am
These priests claim to bg Christians, but everything about them shows that they are not true followers of Christ. John 13:34-35, jesus said that you would know his disciples in that they would have love for one another. If you look at the Bible you will see that religions like catholicism and orthodox churches have very little to do with the Jesus of the Bible. I’m sorry for so many of you who think that these priests actually represent Christianity. Go directly to the source, the Bible. it will teach you the true way.

What a bunch of Christian nut-jobs. Organized religion (the common belief in mythology with no basis in FACT) is tearing this world apart.
Religion is the root of most of the world’s problems
20. Richard December 27th, 2007 - 8:31 am
Funny, very funny. The sanctimonious hypocrites are showing their true colors. And if there really is a christ; I’m sure he’s having a real knee slap over this.
