I could have told you that a song would not change anything at the age of 5. You TRULY thought a song would “change the world?” It’s a fun idealistic thought, but no one in their right mind picks up their ball and goes home pouting because it didn’t happen…conclusion…?
Stop being so bitter about life. Sing your songs, enjoy that people love your music, then fade away into obscurity.

Most definitely, all liberals are r_e_t_a_r_d_e_d. Even Lenin and Stalin called liberals useful idiots. I, however, disagree with Lenin and Stalin as I don’t find liberals to be useful at all; then again I’m not a communist or anti-American.

10 dollars says both you guys cry when you hear the national anthem.
4. John Romano February 8th, 2008 - 9:53 am
I know one thing, saying that your music is “changing” the world is good for one thing: Getting young girls naked.
Now that Neil is older I guess he doesn’t care about that as much.
Veitnam and Iraq the same? Yeah, and I guess the twin towers are still standing.
Stupid old Canadian moron.
5. Greg Webber February 8th, 2008 - 9:55 am
Let Neil go sing to the Imams in Iran or mabye to the Taliban in Afghanistan.Music will not change the world, but the song Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition sure did help in WWII.Peace through strength Neil. Peace through strength.Listen.
6. John Romano February 8th, 2008 - 9:55 am
PS. “Stupid old Canadian moron.” is a little too harsh. How about “misinformed sheltered aging rock star”
Neul Young is a tired old buffoon and a dope-smoking hippie 60’s fried brain reject who can’t even read sheet music. What he means to say is - his music cannot change the world - because it is (and always has been) garbage.
Plenty of music has changed the world:
“Who let the dogs out” increased awareness about leash-law liability to errant dog owners.
“Pop that Kootchie” was instrumental in teaching young woman with large derriere’s how to properly demonstrate their dance moves to excite men’s libidos.
“F*** the Police” taught young urban minorities about the racists in law enforcement and how to deal with a naughty pig.
Music can change the World - just not Lefftist crybaby drivel by demented old has-beens with no talent, writing ability, or fans.

What’s wrong with crying at the national anthem, particularly if you’ve lost someone fighting for this country, Jim?
Neil Young was in the right place at the right time when he wrote “Ohio.” His life peaked at that point. Everything since has been, well, stale. He did fill in for Pearl Jam once, which was nice.
Fred, I can’t really agree that they’re all retarded. As Reagan used to say, it’s not that they’re stupid, it’s what they know is so wrong. What they are, and Neil Young is showing it in spades, are narcissists.
Neil Young is a cool, stand-up guy because he doesn’t expect everyone to agree with him (I don’t) on the Iraq War. Not only does he include comments from unimpressed critics in this film, but he has also done so on his website. His music and artistic greatness speaks for itself, from the early Buffalo Springfield days to the present. Yeah, I’m one of his millions of biggest fans.
You rock, Neil!!!

Music can’t change the world—DUH!!
To Neil and Dylan and the “Little Pink Houses” guy–you’re are all overpaid, believe your own press clippings, self important jerks with your LITTLE songs–try offering ideas instead of disposable songs snapped up by empty headed, mouth breathing youngsters

“Old man, take a look at your life…”. Indeed.
Anti-war liberals are just starting to realize that they are a distinct minority, and that most of the rest of the country, if not the world, understands why we have to go to war sometimes.
Music reflects the world, it doesn’t change it. Of course, if some of these musicians were more in touch with the real world, maybe they could more accurately reflect it.
Young’s a hell of a musician with a catalog that few can match, and CSNY was just a small part of that, almost a footnote. If he’d based his whole career on anti-war songs, he’d be a two-song oldies act.
Get with the real world, 60s hippies. Iraq does not equal Vietnam, and the world does not revolve around your misguided views. If you can’t understand and accept that, then enjoy your little film festivals, but don’t be surprised that your anti-war films and music don’t sell.

As a HUGE Neil Fan, his “Freedom of Speech” tour was easily the dumbest idea he’s EVERY had!
Just because one can fart in church, does not make it the “right” thing to do. He spewed anti-government garbage SIMPLY because he had the right to do so. This does NOTHING but embolden our enemies….especially the Ignorant, Intolorant, HATEFULL group we’re fighting now.
Perhaps now, he sees the “Irony” of his mistake?

Wow- what a revelation! This type of wisdom and insight is why all of us Joe Sixpacks look to celebritites for guidance as to who to vote for.
Too bad we have the same type of idiots running for president. Ugh.
17. seaniep February 8th, 2008 - 10:17 am
I laughed at this as well, the day is gone when music could change the world?
I love it when “artists” complain about their jobs . . . like when an actor can’t find work
they can find work just like the rest of the world does, get a different job
18. Jayba February 8th, 2008 - 10:20 am
Still brain-dead after all these years!
19. Fast Eddie February 8th, 2008 - 10:31 am
Why does a Canadian have so much to say about American foreign policy anyway??? Like so many others, critisize my Uncle Sam, ignore the faults of your own country.
AND, he and CSNY got it all wrong about Kent State too!!!!
More simplistic gibberish that abounded in that era from his ilk.
Never let the facts get in the way EH Neil? ala Oliver Stone, M. Moore, Dan Rather, Mike Wallace, Hanoi Jane, H.Reid, T. Kennedy, ETC,ETC, ETC.
20. Robbie February 8th, 2008 - 10:33 am
The guy is a frigging CANADIAN. Who is he to complain about the US. We are who made him all his money, do you think the canadians would have bought all those records of his? The entire countrys population would fit in New York City. AND he doesn’t even vote here. What a jerk
